Hueston Woods offers numerous accommodations, including a lodge, log cabins, and a campground. We've literally utilized every single one. We typically stayed in the lodge, but there were many times that we rented a cabin in the winter, just to get away for awhile.

I have so many wonderful memories of the place, such as searching for seashells, getting snowed in, my dad teaching us how to swim, and learning about Native American culture. I even remember seeing that annoying commercial when I was there that said something along the lines of "They're coming to tow you away, ha ha, hee hee, ha ha, hoo hoo," or whatever the heck it was. Still don't remember what it was for, though.
More recently, we spent C's 2nd birthday there in 2010. We rented a campsite and stayed in tents. We were "roughin' it," as my dad would say. I'm very happy that C was with us to enjoy the experience. We rode around the lake in a motor boat, we fished on the lake, we hiked the trails, we cooked all of our food over a fire, we told stories, we laughed, and we reminisced. I know C doesn't retain much memory of that day, but it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
I look forward to making more memories at Hueston Woods.
