Cleopatra's Choice Pure Shea Butter Review

Believe it or not, many of the products that you see on store shelves claiming to contain "Shea butter" only contain trace amounts of it. Most of the time, they're also laden with chemicals. That is not the case, however, with this particular Pure Shea Butter.

Dry skin is my worst enemy and because of this, I've tried numerous skin care products. All of the dry skin remedies have proven to be only temporary fixes. There have even been instances when hand lotion has actually caused my hands to feel even more dry once the lotion wears off. I'm assuming that this is due, in part, to the added chemicals.

Recently, I was able to try Cleopatra's Choice Pure Shea Butter --an all natural remedy for dry skin (and much more, as you will soon learn).
Being that I cannot stand for my hands to be dry, I was incredibly excited to try this Pure Shea Butter to see if it's all that it's cracked up to be. Luckily for me, the product lived up to its promise.

I found that after using the Cleopatra's Choice Pure Shea Butter on my hands after washing, it kept them moisturized until the next wash. For me, that is huge because every other product has worn off within a few minutes. Also, and to my surprise, the Pure Shea Butter did not leave a greasy residue, unlike other "Shea butter" products.

I was also surprised at how much Shea butter I received. It was one pound of Shea butter in a plastic, recyclable tub, which made household storage incredibly easy.

With that said, however, it doesn't exactly fit into my purse. Being the nifty woman that I am, I came up with a solution. I filled an old Altoids tin with the Cleopatra's Choice Pure Shea Butter so that I could carry it around with me.

There was one thing that I didn't really like, and that's the smell. The scent reminds me of the soap you can make at homestead farms--just kind of "earthy." It's not necessarily a bad thing and it's certainly not overpowering, it's just not something I like to go around smelling like, if that makes sense. And clearly, this scent is to be expected as the product is natural. Even still, I didn't like it very much so I added a couple drops of essential lavender oil to the Altoids tin. It made a world of difference (and it's still natural). Did I mention that I'm nifty?

Bottom line, this stuff is amazing and is super versatile. It's 100% natural and totally organic, and is made from the finest nuts of the Shea Tree in Ghana, Africa. You can use it for dry skin relief, psoriasis dryness, eczema, acne, to prevent stretch marks, and even as a lip balm! Who would have thought?

Needless to say, this all-natural Cleopatra's Choice Pure Shea Butter has become a skincare staple for me.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Thanks for the review. I like shea butter but I'm not crazy about the smell either. This one seems like a good butter to try. I love how you used the Altoids container too.
