Freelance Lady: SinfulColors Summer 2015 Collection: Street Fusion

I am a nail polish fanatic. When I first discovered Pinterest, nail art was the first thing that I started pinning (check out my nail art pins to see what I've been up to)! Needless to say, when I had the opportunity to review Sinful Colors nail polish, I was jumping for joy!

I received six colors from the SinfulColors 2015 Summer Collection, Street Fusion.

According to SinfulColors:

This summer, SinfulColors transports you across the globe with an on-trend collection of 29 hues that reflect the vibrant and eclectic chaos from around the world. The fusion of saturated cream shades and dazzling neon appliquès channel the pulsating energy of a summer evening. The offbeat blend of spicy reds, oranges, and cooling blues are perfectly paired with henna appliquès and foil tips. Juicy purples and pinks complement new matte glitter toppers that add a fashion-forward flair while graffiti-inspired splatter glitter topcoats capture the diverse and rebellious vibe of street art.

I was incredibly anxious to try the nail polish. As soon as I removed them from the box, I began experimenting. To start, I tried one coat of each polish on my nails—leaving the Pink Aspen for a top coat over the Keira Blu.

This is what the SinfulColors nail polish looked like after one coat.

Fuji Fuji

One coat of this polish gave my nails a pretty sparkle, which reminds me of the sparkle of the night sky during those warm, summer bonfires. It's clear that Fuji Fuji is made to layer over a pigmented polish. Despite this, I wanted to use it by itself so that I could use one of the SinfulColors Neon Appliquès Hot Tips with it. You will see the end result closer to the end of this post.

Sky Tree

Sky Tree is a lovely aqua hue, one that reminds me of the vibrancy of the blue green ocean. This was one of my favorite colors out of the six that I was able to try. It seems to be more pigmented than the others, which I appreciated.

Pink Ansen

This is Pink Ansen by itself after one coat. I really love the beautiful flashes of color in this one, especially in the sunlight. It truly does reflect the fun, upbeat energy that summer brings. Below, you will see what the Pink Ansen looked like when paired over the Keira Blu.

I think that the Pink Aspen pairs beautifully with the Keira Blu. It twinkles like the night sky off of the surface of the ocean. In the sunlight, the pinks take on more of a violet hue.

Otaku Anime

The Otaku Anime isn't highly pigmented, so after only one coat, it's still rather transparent. However, the color is still vibrant and it stands out. After two coats, it looks 100 times better and is a color that I could see myself wearing to the beach or the pool.

Maroon Fine

Like Sky Tree, Maroon Fine is also more pigmented than the other colors in the Street Fusion collection. Maroon Fine is a red-orange, one that stands out beautifully when paired with Otaku Anime and reminds me of a fiery summer sunset.

Keira Blu

Keira Blu is a lightly pigmented color that is transparent after one coat. I still love the shine of this color and the way it seems to represent a cloudless summer sky.

Below, you'll see what the pigments look like after two coats. The colors stand out with far more vibrancy when compared to one coat. I love the way that the colors look together—the Street Fusion collection certainly captures the essence of summer, street art, and beautiful chaos. Overall, I find this collection to be one of my favorite SinfulColors collections thus far.

The colors are bold, but also playful. While I was painting my nails, my daughter walked up and admired what I was doing. I then decided to have a little fun and paint her nails. She chose which colors she wanted on each nail. This is the end result.

SinfulColors nail polish glides on easily and each coat dries fully within about 10 minutes. Two coats are enough to get the full pigment out of the polish and the end result is a beautiful, shiny nail.

The nail polish also lasts, as I have done several sink fulls of dishes with my bare hands and the color has yet to chip or peel. That, in my book, is a plus!

Now, let's discuss the Neon Appliquès Hot Tips from SinfulColors. These Hot Tips are very similar to stick-on nail polishes, but in this case, it's just tips.

To use the tips, find the one that best matches the size of your nail. Clean your nails beforehand so that the tips stick properly. Peel it off, place it over the tip, and press into place. Fold the excess over the nail and use a nail file to file it off.

I used my SinfulColors Neon Appliquès Hot Tips over two coats of the Fuji Fuji nail polish. I, personally, think that it looked lovely! Definitely the perfect summer nail!

The SinfulColors Neon Appliquès Hot Tips didn't hold up as well as the SinfulColors nail polish. It seems that by washing dishes, I reduced the effectiveness of the adhesive. After hand washing one load of dishes, the appliquès began to fall off.

To remedy this, I suggest using rubber gloves while washing dishes. If you plan on going swimming at the pool or beach, I suggest sealing the tips with a clear top coat beforehand.

Overall, I really love the SinfulColors Street Fusion collection and I believe that the SinfulColors Neon Appliquès Hot Tips would be more effective with a top coat. I do recommend this set.
