ScentBird - Perfume Subscription Box + BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline Review

Subscription boxes, to me, are quite possibly one of the greatest ideas of all time. These days, you can subscribe to receive almost any product, from food to lingerie, and from clothing to shaving supplies. Perhaps my most favorite subscription box of all is the perfume subscription box.

* Product and/or service provided for review without cost. As always, all opinions are my own.

You read that right! With ScentBird, you can sign up to receive a new perfume every month!

ScentBird is a company that offers a monthly perfume subscription. With your subscription, you receive an 8 mL bottle of perfume (your choice) each month. To receive a new perfume each month, you only pay $14.95 + tax / per month. Because ScentBird offers several well-known, high-end perfume brands, this is an incredible deal—especially when compared to the current prices of roller ball perfumes on the market (of the same brands)!

Prior to receiving your perfume sample, you are asked several questions regarding your scent preferences, past scents that you've enjoyed, and several personality-related questions. The results of this survey allow ScentBird to better gauge which perfumes are right for you.

Of course, you don't have to go by ScentBird's recommendations—they are, after all, just suggestions. However, I feel that the survey creates a pretty accurate determination of what scents you might like.

The perfumes that ScentBird recommended for me are as follows:

  • BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline
  • Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana
  • Brit Sheer by Burberry
  • Something Blue by Oscar De La Renta

There are several reasons why I settled on BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline. For starters, I have heard amazing things about this perfume from friends. Secondly, I had faith that ScentBird's recommendations were accurate, based on my survey results. Finally, the description of BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline captivated me.

Capturing the glowing clarity of crystal light, Omnia Crystalline illuminates, reflects, and reveals a woman's unique radiance, her femininity, her beauty - the inexpressible, irresistible lightness of her being.

As it turns out, this scent was exactly what I hoped it would be and so much more.

I find the scent to be soft, feminine, exotic, and elegant—perfect for an event or a date. There are several notes at play here, including floral, fruity, and woodsy notes. According to the ScentBird Omnia Crystalline page, the main notes are fruity and musk, which I can agree with.

To decide whether or not ScentBird is for you, consider the pros and cons as weighed below.

The Pros of ScentBird

High-End Perfumes Available - ScentBird features dozens of different well-known perfume brands, including Gucci, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Calvin Klein. With ScentBird's search option, it's incredibly easy to find your favorite brands! Over 350 designer perfumes available!

Better Deal Than Roller Ball - When compared to the current prices on roller balls for the same brands, ScentBird's monthly subscription price is more than reasonable.

Quality Perfume Bottle - The sprayer that ScentBird sends with your first perfume sample is a quality sprayer. To open the nozzle, just twist the bottle to reveal the sprayer. Twist it back down to close it. When you run out of perfume, the sample vial may be removed and a new bottle placed in the sprayer. Alternatively, you can just use the sample vials as-is. I prefer the sprayer because I like the way it looks and the ease of use.

Various Subscription Options Available - If you don't want to commit to the subscription because you're not sure whether or not you'll like it, you can pay on a month-by-month basis, a three-month basis, six-month basis, or even for a full year. This gives you flexibility if you decide that ScentBird is not for you. There are also gifting options available, so keep that in mind for birthdays and holidays!

The Cons of ScentBird

ScentBird Does Not Offer Refunds or Exchanges - According to the ScentBird FAQs, they do not currently offer refunds or returns on subscriptions of any kind. This is why it is wise to be very careful when choosing which perfumes you would like to receive. I recommend trying the scents elsewhere, just to determine whether or not they're for you.

Small Vials May Not Last Monthly - If you use your perfume sparingly, then you should have no problem making it last all month long. However, for those of you who tend to get a little "spray crazy" with your perfumes, you may find that you're running out before the month is over. To make sure your perfume lasts before your next one comes in, try using only two sprays per day. That should be more than enough, especially considering that these high-end perfumes tend to last for several hours.

In my personal opinion, the pros absolutely outweigh the cons, simply because any issues that arise can be avoided with careful selection and regular use of the perfume as opposed to excessive use. ScentBird is an incredible subscription box program! Seriously, who wants to drop over $50 on a perfume that you're not even guaranteed to like? With ScentBird, you can avoid that issue altogether—and for a bargain.
