Get The Right Temp Every Time: Cave Tools Digital Cooking Thermometer

Over the past several years, I have gone through at least six food thermometers. I simply do not have good luck with them; they either take too long to give me a reading or are poorly made and therefore break during washing or daily handling.

When I had the opportunity to review the Cave Tools Meat Thermometer, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to try another thermometer. When I read up on their particular model, I decided it was worth a shot.

There were several reasons that I was interested in giving the Cave Tools Digital Cooking Thermometer a chance, some of which are outlined below.

Quick Readings

The Cave Tools Meat Thermometer has the ability to give you a reading within 4 to 6 seconds. That means that you don't have to worry about your food cooling down while you get an accurate reading.

Accuracy

Cave Tools claims that this thermometer is accurate within 1°F. That alone is pretty remarkable and guarantees that you'll have the closest accurate temperature. No more under or overcooking your delicious dishes. The thermometer can also be recalibrated so that the accuracy never falters.

Design

The thermometer is made of 100% stainless steel and is both shatterproof and waterproof. Its sleek, slim design allows it to fit easily into your pocket.

Battery

If you do not use the thermometer in 10 minutes, it will automatically shut off to conserve battery. If the battery does die, it can be replaced fairly easily. It uses a watch battery, so you don't have to search high and low to find a battery that fits.

Display

I have never seen such a large digital display on this type of food thermometer. The display is large and the buttons are spaced so that they can be pressed by even the largest fingers.

It can display readings in both degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius.

One thing that really stood out to me was the temperature reading range. The Cave Tools Digital Cooking Thermometer features a range from -40 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. That means that you can test the temperature of oil before deep frying. I have never owned a thermometer that exceeds 400 degrees Fahrenheit, so this was a welcomed change.

Free Recipe Book with Purchase

With your purchase, you will also receive "The Grill Master's Essential Barbecue Recipe Book." This book includes several recipes for barbecuing, including chicken, ribs, and even a homemade BBQ sauce!

I decided to test the thermometer's range when I was heating oil for homemade chicken tenders yesterday evening. To my surprise, I received a reading within 4 seconds. My oil was almost hot enough to start cooking.

Overall, I can tell that this digital cooking thermometer is going to be one of my most widely used kitchen gadgets. It definitely comes highly recommended from yours truly.
