Freelance Lady: Watch Ya' Mouth Throwdown Edition

The first time I saw the game "Watch Ya' Mouth" was last year while scrolling through Facebook videos. An old man was playing the game with his family and as he attempted to recite a phrase, his false teeth fell out! I almost peed myself laughing! It was one of the funniest things I had seen in awhile.

Now, there's Watch Ya' Mouth Throwdown Edition, which is a "versus" style game, where you go head-to-head against your opponent—while wearing mouth pieces!

Watch Ya' Mouth Throwdown Edition retails for $24.99, which is a fair price for a game that's fun for the whole family! My children really got a kick out of the game, even before we started playing!

42 Phrase Cards
10 Multicolored Mouthpieces

The objective of the game is to win, obviously, by beating challenges against your opponents. It seems, however, to be designed more for silliness and generally having a good time. This is something that I can appreciate, especially when you're making memories with your family.

For Watch Ya' Mouth Throwdown Edition, you need between four and ten placers. You'll face off against opponents in "relay races," acting, singing, and other "Throwdowns," along with some social media surprises (uh oh!). A single round lasts about 30 minutes to an hour (with four people).

Here's an example of one of the Phrase Cards. If your Throwdown Card says you have to draw a Phrase Card, you'll have to recite the phrase on the card while wearing a mouthpiece—which is always hilarious!

If you think that being forced to draw a Phrase Card is bad, look at this example of one of the other Throwdown Challenges.

While this is funny in itself, imagine completing this challenge with mouthpieces. That makes for a sidesplitting, ridiculous moment to remember!

We prepared the game and began our humiliating journey...

Carter went first and drew a Throwdown Card that told him to choose a Phrase Card. He inserted the mouthpiece and prepared himself for some hilarious talking.

Success! He was finally able to get the mouthpiece in so that he could start embarrassing himself.

And he began, "Woolly Worms Wiggling Wildly." This phrase actually came out sounding like, "Ooo-eee oo-oons igging i-eee."

Ireland attempted to figure out what he was saying, but wasn't successful.

As a matter of fact, none of us were able to figure it out! But we did have a great time playing together.

For me, the mouthpieces are quite uncomfortable and I'm not truly fond of reusing them (even after washing—you drool a lot while wearing them). Even still, we enjoyed ourselves. I think my favorite part was when I had to try to blow one of the noisemakers with the mouthpiece in (which, I'm still convinced, is absolutely impossible—you can't use your lips because they're pushed back by the mouthpiece)! It was ridiculously funny to my children though, and that's all that matters.
