Bacon Parmesan Penne Pasta Recipe


This Parmesan bacon penne recipe is hearty, delicious, and super quick and easy to make—only about 35 minutes total. It's rich, creamy, and I mean, c'mon. It has bacon in it. Trust me, it's a winner.

Ingredients:
  • Chicken Stock, (1 1/2 cups)
  • Water (1 cup)
  • Penne Pasta (8 oz, dry)
  • Bacon (12 oz)
  • Heavy Cream (1 1/2 cups)
  • Mozzarella Cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Parmesan Cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Fresh Basil (1 Tbsp, chopped)
  • Fresh Parsley (1 Tbsp, chopped)
  • Salt/Pepper (to taste)
  1. Pour chicken stock and water into a medium pot. Bring to a boil and then add in the pasta. Cook according to the directions. Drain.
  2. Toss your bacon into a pan and cook according to the directions. Chop bacon into small pieces. Reserve about 2 Tbsp bacon grease.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add bacon and bacon grease back into pan. Pour in heavy cream.
  4. Once the cream begins to bubble slightly, add in mozzarella and Parmesan. Stir until cheese is melted.
  5. Add in fresh basil.
  6. Salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add pasta to the sauce, stirring to coat. Heat through.
  8. Remove from heat and top with fresh parsley.
  9. Serve.

Instructions
Combine chicken stock and 1 cup water in a medium pot. Heat to boiling. Add dry penne and cook according to the package instructions. Drain.Cook bacon according to instructions and chop. Reserve 2 Tbsp bacon grease.Reduce heat to medium and add bacon and bacon grease back into pan. Pour in heavy cream.Once cream starts to bubble slightly, add in Parmesan and mozzarella. Stir until cheese is melted.Add in fresh basil and stir. Salt and pepper to taste.Pour cooked pasta into the bacon and cheese sauce. Stir to coat. Heat through.Remove from heat. Top with fresh parsley.Serve.
