Many cities around the world have slowly but surely developed into incredible havens of modern civilization. For a while now, there has been a steady transition of these destinations being more and more widely sought by travellers. For example, once colorful yet mundane city of Sao Paulo in Brazil is actually starting to rival the capital of Rio de Janeiro. This is just one example of how, smaller cities with larger budgets than before have begun to challenge the top dogs. That brings on the question of whether or not the Big Apple is still top dog in America? Cities like Chicago, and Seattle have begun to be hovels for artists, manufacturers and even corporations. The food is still the best in this concrete jungle. The quality of produce rivals any and often beats artisan populated cities like Los Angeles. The boutique bakeries are alive and well, with Eastern European delicacies still selling like nobody’s business. Head over to Despana where you can find delicious Spanish deli cured meats. Of course, the tapas is phenomenal with fresh sweet and spicy chorizo plummeted into a clay bowl of herby rice. The street food is just as good, with many carts parked all over the city serving every cuisine under the sun.

The abundance of performances

This city has everything, but there are some things that it prides itself in more than others. For example, everyone and their mother knows about Broadway. The reputation is known all around the world for a reason. Aspiring and veteran actors and actresses all come down to this northern side of the city to do what they love. Things have changed because now, anyone can book tickets for Broadway shows online and have their seats ready and waiting for them on arrival. No matter where you are in the world, you have access to the abundance of performances Broadway has to offer. The Big Apple is facing some fierce competition from growing cities. It's understandable that people might question whether or not they should visit this icon of America. For food and entertainment, there just hasn’t been a rival worthy of taking the crown just yet. The street food is just as good as the restaurant food.
