I'm now 30 and over the past five years, I've developed and maintained a daily skincare ritual. I've tried many products, some of which did amazing things for my skin and others that did some not-so-amazing things to my skin.
Nowadays, skincare is pretty important to me. Over the years, my skin has lost some of its elasticity. It's not as radiant as it once was and I suffer from redness that I've only been able to hide with makeup. As someone that likes to go bare-faced pretty often, a red face is a real bummer.
* I received three products, free of charge, from Lexli Skincare to facilitate this review. As always, all opinions are my own. Please view my full disclosure.
I'm always looking for ways to improve my skincare routine and my eyes are always open for new products. When Lexli, an aloe-based skincare brand reached out to me and asked me to check out their skincare products, I immediately jumped on board. I already use aloe in my skincare routine, so I thought it'd be awesome to try these aloe-based products and see how well they do for me — and today, I'm excited to share what Lexli Skincare products have done for my skin.
Lexli is an aloe-based skincare line with products from facial washes to moisturizers and everything in between. The company was started by Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, a board-certified plastic surgeon. He began looking for skincare products that he could recommend to his clients. His goal was to find pharmaceutical grade aloe-based products, but none met his standards. That's when he decided to develop his own aloe-based skincare line.
"We think of aloe as a pharmacy in a plant." - Dr. Wendell Winters, Professor of Microbiology, University of Texas Health Science CenterBefore trying Lexli, I was already using 100% aloe vera in my skincare routine. I used it as a moisturizer at the end of the night because of it's soothing properties. Naturally, I was excited to implement these aloe-based products into my skincare routine.
I received three different products, which I will discuss in detail below.
Lexli Aloe-Based ALOEGLYC Renewing Exfoliant
AloeGlyC® is an acid skin exfoliant. It utilizes aloe and glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation. Despite having a pH similar to chemical peels, AloeGlyC does not have the same risks (burn and redness). It's safe for daily use and designed to soften, smooth, brighten, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can even unclog pores and minimize their appearance.
While this exfoliant is safe for everyday use, I personally only use exfoliators once a week. I know my skin and because exfoliating too often tends to irritate my skin, I keep it to a minimum.

The formula is smooth and creamy and smells fresh and clean. It's easy to apply to the skin and absorbs well.
INGREDIENTS: Organic Pharmaceutical-Grade Aloe Vera; Purified Water; Cetearyl Alcohol; Glycolic Acid; Lactose; Butylene Glycol; Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride; Cellulose; Tridecyl Stearate; Neopentyl Glycol; Dicaprylate/Dicaprate; Green Tea Extract; Tridecyl Trimellitate; Cetyl Alcohol; Ceteareth-20; Glycerin; Octyl Palmitate; Vitamin E; Salicyclic Acid; Polysorbate-60; Vitamin A; Phenoxyethanol; Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose; Chromium Hydroxide; Green Mica; Black Iron Oxide; Vitamin C; Glycereth-26; Jojoba Seed Oil; Dimethicone; Magnesium Aluminum Silicate; Vitamin B5; Xanthan Gum; Tetrasodium EDTA; Allantoin; BHT; Vitamin D3; Ethylhexlyglycerin; Sodium Metabisulfate; Vitamin C (encapsulated)
Lexli Aloe-Based Night Moisturizer
The Lexli Aloe-Based Night Moisturizer is a face and neck moisturizer that hydrates and softens the skin while you sleep. If, like me, you experience dry skin fairly regularly, you can use this moisturizer any time of day. It's rich in emollients and humectants that lock in moisture which minimizes transepidermal water loss (which can lead to dry, dull skin).
Those who suffer from seasonal dryness or sensitive skin may find immediate relief with this soothing cream.
There are three sizes available including a 1.6 ounce ($39.99), a 4 ounce deluxe ($97.99), and a .25 ounce travel size container ($6.99). If you're questioning whether or not you should make the purchase, try the travel size first. You can thank me later.
It's a rich, creamy formula that glides on smoothly and absorbs into the skin. It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy, tacky, or heavy. I used this skin moisturizer twice a day for the full week of testing this product.

Lexli Aloe-Based Revital-Eyes Rejuvenating Eye Cream
The Lexli Revital-Eyes Rejuvenating Cream is probably my favorite of the three products. It's an eye cream that firms, tones, and soothes. It hydrates the thin skin around the eyes and the ingredients also contain anti-inflammatories like licorice root and chamomile. It also contains vitamins to help eyes appear younger and brighter.
It's available in two sizes — .50 ounces for $50.99 or .25 ounces for $27.99.
This formula is thicker than the Night Moisturizer and smells sweeter. It leaves the skin around my eyes feeling soft, supple, and moisturized.

My Skincare Routine with Lexli Products
For a full week, I implemented all three of the above products into my regular skincare routine. Below, I detail the exact routine that I followed.
Day One
- Lexli Aloe-Based AloeGlyC Renewing Exfoliant - I diluted the product, with a 1:1 ratio using the Night Moisturizer (per the recommendation for sensitive skin/first-time use on the Lexli website). I applied it in an upward and outward motion with clean fingers. After about fifteen minutes, you do not wash it off, you simply apply a moisturizer over it, which I do in step two.
- Night Moisturizer - Immediately after using the exfoliant, I applied the Night Moisturizer. I also applied the Night Moisturizer before bed. It's called "Night Moisturizer" but I used it two to three times daily (twice on regular days and three times on days that I exfoliate).
- Revital-Eyes Cream - I used the eye cream before bed.
Day One Experience - I noticed redness after using the AloeGlycC, but that's not abnormal for an acid exfoliator and someone who's never used one before. Lexli specifically states on their website that using an exfoliant like this can cause redness the first few times that you use it. Over time, you will notice a reduction in redness and improved skin quality. I did notice a markedly improved difference after the first week.
Day Two
On this day, I did not use the AloeGlyC. As I mentioned previously, I decided to exfoliate only once per week because of the condition of my skin.
- I washed my face with my regular facial cleanser.
- I used witch hazel as a toner (applied with cotton pads).
- Night Moisturizer - Again, despite it being a "Night Moisturizer," I used this product as my daily moisturizer for a full week. I used it in the morning after washing and toning and again before bed.
- Eye Cream - Applied before bed.
Day Two Experience - I woke up on day two feeling like my skin was still a little red. There seemed to be a very subtle difference in my pore size. The dry patches around my nose and on my forehead were virtually gone.
Day Three
This is the day that the magic began. My routine was a repeat of Day Two.
- I washed my face with my regular facial cleanser.
- I used witch hazel as a toner (applied with cotton pads).
- Night Moisturizer - I used it in the morning after washing and toning and again before bed.
- Eye Cream - Applied before bed.
Day Three Experience - When I woke up and looked in the mirror on Day Three, I was shocked at the sight of my skin. The redness that I've grown so used to over the years was nearly GONE. My skin felt soft, supple, and I couldn't stop touching it (sorry, I know that's a huge no-no when it comes to skincare but I couldn't help it). My pores were SO much smaller, there was way less shine to my nose, and while I didn't notice much of a difference in my wrinkles and fine lines, the difference in my skin was astounding.
Day Four
This is basically another repeat.
- I washed my face with my regular facial cleanser.
- I used witch hazel as a toner (applied with cotton pads).
- Night Moisturizer - I used it in the morning after washing and toning and again before bed.
- Eye Cream - Applied before bed.
Day Four Experience - My skin continued to be redness free, soft, supple, and smooth. At this point, I am very impressed and convinced that these products actually work.
Day Five
Again, a repeat. This time, I took another picture to compare it with a second picture that I took on day one.
- I washed my face with my regular facial cleanser.
- I used witch hazel as a toner (applied with cotton pads).
- Night Moisturizer - I used it in the morning after washing and toning and again before bed.
- Eye Cream - Applied before bed.
Day Six
Again, a repeat of my routine.
- I washed my face with my regular facial cleanser.
- I used witch hazel as a toner (applied with cotton pads).
- Night Moisturizer - I used it in the morning after washing and toning and again before bed.
- Eye Cream - Applied before bed.
Day Six Experience - There was no huge difference on this day. My skin continues to feel soft, smooth, and moisturized.
Day Seven
On Day Seven, I used the exfoliant again. This time, I decided to try it without diluting the product.
- Lexli Aloe-Based AloeGlyC Renewing Exfoliant - I used the exfoliant without using a product to dilute it. After about fifteen minutes, I put on the night moisturizer.
Day Seven Experience - After using the exfoliant without diluting it, I did again notice redness. However, it was not as red as it was the first time. My skin on Day Seven continues to be soft, smooth, and supple. My pores are still noticeably smaller.
Overall Experience with Lexli Skincare
A 7-day difference. |
The three Lexli Skincare products that I tried did wonderful things for my skin. As of writing this post, I continue using them. I intend to continue using the AloeGlyC once a week, the Night Moisturizer twice daily, and the eye cream nightly.
In terms of price, I feel that Lexli Skincare is a little pricey, but with that said, it works. I've been purchasing drug store brands for the past five years and I honestly feel that with Lexli products, I'm seeing bigger results and I'm seeing them more quickly. While I'm not a firm believer in "the more expensive the product, the better it is," I can say that it seems to be true in regards to Lexli Skincare.
With that said, if you're looking for a product that works, works quickly, and will leave your skin feeling soft, supple, smoother, and brighter, then Lexli Skincare could be the answer you're looking for. For more information and to see a full list of products, visit the Lexli website.
