We're a pasta loving family here, so I'm always on the lookout for a healthy alternative to the high calorie noodles that we're used to. Recently, I had the chance to try out the Retseliney Vegetable Spiral Slicer, and I thought, "What an excellent idea for creating pasta from vegetables?!"
I decided to give the spiral slicer a shot by using zucchini to create a delicious pasta.

The Retsiliney Vegetable Spiral Slicer is an hourglass shaped utensil with blades on the inside. The bundle comes with a salad recipe booklet, a washing brush, and a rubber piece, which I believe makes it easier to turn the lid to get the last few pieces of the vegetables into the spiral slicer (I also use it as a jar opener).
Use your spiral slicer to create your zucchini noodles. Toss them in the microwave for about 1 minute, 30 seconds, until they are soft—but not too soft. A noodle-texture is what we're going for.
Top with red cayenne pepper and parsley. Serve as a side or a main dish.
What I liked about the Reseliney vegetable spiral slicer is that it is super easy to use. It is literally just like sharpening a pencil. The added cap attachment allows you to get as much of the veggie as possible. What's left over can be throw into a food processor and added to your sauce.
It should be noted that once you start slicing, it creates an extremely long noodle. You can cut them down, however, like I typically do with regular spaghetti noodles.
For those of you looking to start eating healthier or try new recipes, this is a must-have tool for your kitchen. You can create all kinds of vegetable pastas and all kinds of different garnishes to create healthy, beautiful meals.
The zucchini noodles are a great healthy alternative. Love the way the spiralizer is made! This is a “Must Have” gadget definitely!
