How To Host The Perfect Winter Party

As the weather gets colder and winter is upon us, it’s time to put away the barbecue and the picnic basket and get ready for winter. However, just because it’s colder doesn’t mean the fun has to stop, and it doesn’t mean that you have to go indoors. There’s plenty of fun occasions during the winter and plenty of reasons to have a party, so why not carry on enjoying the fresh air and the outdoors and throw a cozy winter party. There are loads of good things you can do which your guests will love.


Before you do anything, though, you might want to prep your garden after the summer. Cut back the bushes, tend to your grass or check your synturf and make sure you’re ready for tough weather but a load of fun too:

Create A Toasty Fire

Enjoy the colder weather because outside parties are fun, even in winter. You can set the atmosphere with an outdoor fire which everyone can sit around enjoying good food, good drinks, and good friends. Having an outdoor fire pit is a great and easy way to do this, and you can toast marshmallows easily, and it has an excellent campfire feel.

Serve Hot Food And Drink

Think about getting creative with your food and drink. You could have a station serving yummy hearty food and drinks such as a range of soups and stews or a chili, and you could even serve them in thermos. Then, with this, you could have a hot drink bar serving mulled wine, hot chocolate, or a hot apple cider. Get everyone warm on the inside and they won't even notice that they're outside in the cold.

Light It Up

If your party is going to be in the evening, then you’ll need to think about your outdoor lighting. You can really get creative with this and make your garden look gorgeous by lighting pathways with candles in mason jars. You could hang small jars in trees with tea light candles or get yourself some fairy lights and lanterns which are really cute, inexpensive and really add to the ambiance.

Keep Your Guests Warm

When entertaining outdoors, providing guests with blankets is a must, but you could also offer a box of accessories for them to use such as beanie hats, scarves, and gloves as well. If you have an outdoor heater as well, then now is definitely an excellent time to use it.

Plan Entertainment

As well as sitting around the fire and toasting marshmallows, you could add some other entertainment for your party. Either plan some active games to keep everyone warm or you could create an outdoor cinema. Having everyone settled around the fire with their hot drinks, blankets, and marshmallows, is the perfect way to watch a great movie - especially a winter one.
